Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4, Verse 29

Knowledge and the Renunciation of Action

अपाने जुह्वति प्राण प्राणेऽपानं तथाऽपरे। प्राणापानगती रुद्ध्वा प्राणायामपरायणाः

apāne juhvati prāṇaṁ prāṇe apānaṁ tathā apare prāṇa-apāna-gatī ruddhvā prāṇāyāma-parāyaṇāḥ

What does Bhagavad Gita 4.29 mean?

Others offer the outgoing breath into the incoming breath, and the incoming breath into the outgoing breath, while still others, restraining the movements of both the outgoing and incoming breaths, are wholly devoted to the control of breath. Yet others, having regulated their diet, offer the life-breaths into the life-energy — all these are knowers of sacrifice, whose impurities are destroyed by sacrifice.
